Fashion: The Attire Club

I found a blog that was for men in relation to fashion and it wasn't stupid. Like... seriously...

These guys: Fraqquoh & Franchomme are revolutinising male related fashion and giving us girls new insight into the problems that guys face in the female-orientated world of high-class fashion. Don't think Karl Lagerfeld or Marc Jacobs' or YSL. Those men have that innate sense of what women want because they were groomed that way. This blog refers to real guys and the problems they encounter in the cutthroat world of fashion.

Although, I'm not sure if male models count as "real" guys per se (I mean, look at them!) but they (F&F) are changing the way that society views these men and it is very much appreciated.

Rock on F&F. Rock on.

Inspire.Fashion: Cuckoo for Coco

I love love love LOVE Coco Rocha! There's been Tyra and Naomi and Karlie and Chanel, but Coco Rocha is like... amazingly awesome!

She epitomizes style and she does not compromise herself (it's been said that she utterly refuses to pose nude or in just underwear or swimwear) and she is still going strong after modeling professionally for nearly 10 years now. She is said to be a Christian (yet another thing I love about her)

She symbolizes what is still sane about fashion and though some people say she is too obvious,  I think she is one of the most unpredictable models out there.

She holds superstar acclaim in my heart and I wish her a successful career and life.

We love you Coco!  #TeamCoco.

Fashion: Gevinson and The Great Fashion Evolution

Tavi Gevinson. If you are a respectable fashionista, you must know her. it is an absolute must. She is one of THE most amazing bloggers out there, and now she's the editor of her own magazine. And she's not even out of junior high.

She began her blog in 2008 at the age of (get this) ELEVEN! She was 11 and in like, 2 years, she was already rubbing shoulders with the greats. Now, I might not be really into her kooky, quirky fashion, but she is a true inspiration. She just put her mind to it and went for it and look where she is now- the editor of her own magazine, Rookiemag which has writers from EVERYWHERE. Isn't that something?

She has truly evolved, fashion-wise. Style-wise, she is still the Tavi I knew and loved as a 10 year old when I first found her blog. She is an inspiration for me, right up there with Anna Wintour, Leith Clark and Scott Schumann. She is simply awesome.

Below, are pictures of her following her style evolution. Enjoy.

P.S. Am I the only one totally in LOVE with the cute granny like look? It suits her teeny self quite well...

Inspire: Resilient Jillian

There's always that person. That person who stands out and makes everyone stop and stare. Sometimes it's for more than one reason.

That person, today, is Jillian Mercado (the girl at the top. I adore her hair!). She's awesome and she would so be a stare-able person what with her awesome style...

She has Spastic Muscular Dystrophy and has been in a wheelchair since she was 3 years old. Yet, she blazed her way through the fashion world, and the now 23 year old is becoming a regular sight at fashion shows, and a top-notch writer.

I could talk about her many positive and loveable qualities, but then I think, we're all human. She can't have been totally happy with the way she was born could she? However, does she let that stop her? No. Definitely not. She has been through a lot, trying to break into the fashion world. She is stronger than a lot of us are and obviously does nto let anyoen tell her she couldn't do something. If she did, this post wouldn't be written...

Jillian Mercado is the editor of fashion blog: Manufactured 1987 and let me just say that it is extremely impressive that someone who doesn't have the blessing to be mobile on her legs like we do (and take it for granted), can become so wildly popular in a world where appearance is everything and look good while doing it. She went to FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology, for all you rookies), and she totally got a degree. She lives (and was born) in NYC (which makes her seem cooler because that place is so hustle-bustle, push-shove, dog-eat-dog like. I was just telling myself to quit with the analogies...) and she has interned at Allure, and is currently the Creative Assistant at Patrick McMullan’s Magazine: PMc Magazine, Executive Editorial Assistant for WeTheUrban and Contributing writer for Beautylish.com. Heavy stuff...

People in this world are disgusting though...a while back, her electric wheelchair was stolen. See details on how you can help replace it here (or at least offer mental support like me) at Indiegogo.com

More on Jillian, in an article written by her can be found at Beautylish.com in this article:

Why Being Yourself Truly Matters—Even in the Fashion World

Keep being awesome and let's Jillian-ize our lives a little bit.

G97: Made In 1997

Hola, chicas (and chicos. I'm not biased)

No, I'm not Spanish. I'm not Yiddish either as the name seems to imply. I'm 99.9% Nigerian. The .1% is British-Italian (two cultures I adore).

My late grandfather named me Golda after Golda Meir, the Israeli Prime Minister. She was the epitome of awesome. Think Margaret Thatcher with greyer hair. She was cool...but she died in the '70s. She made a name for herself though, being described as the "strong-willed, straight-talking, grey-bunned grandmother of the Jewish people".

This blog is about well, everything. It does focus a lot on fashion and music and does it's best to be cool (although I think that's pretty effortless on it own. Teehee.)

My real name will not be disclosed, because I just love being anonymous, but thou shalt love me. I will however tell you that I am 15, and awesome. I am also dark-skinned and I have teeny eyes that my aunt loves to call "Chinco" (that's Nigerian slang for Chinese). I wear glasses, and I am short (and proud of it baby!)

I will have to schedule my blogging (every Sunday maybe) but this thing is going to rock. Don't worry, I'm a veteran-ish...

That's it I guess. Enjoy the blog peeps!

xox,
Golda.
